How Does

Smart Solar Work?

Harnessing Nature’s Energy, Day and Night

The Smart Solar system works tirelessly to provide your home with hot water using the natural resources that surround us each day. Here’s how Smart Solar keeps your showers hot and your energy bills low.

Here’s how it works

1. When your water tank cools down, the heat pump starts.
2. The refrigerant, which is always colder than the outside air, flows through the exterior wall mounted panel.
3. As it moves through the wall mounted panel, it absorbs heat energy from the air around it – even on chilly winter nights.
4. This absorbed heat causes the fluid to evaporate and turn into a gas.
5. The gas then travels to the heat pump near your water tank, where it's compressed to make it hot (up to 230°F).
6. This hot gas then passes through a heat exchanger where the water is heated.
7. As it cools down, the gas turns back into a liquid, ready to start the process all over again.

This cycle repeats, ensuring you always have hot water while using minimal electricity. This system tirelessly and efficiently heats your water using the abundant warmth — yes, even in New England winters — from the air outside your home.

With Smart Solar, you’re not just heating water – you’re embracing a smarter, more efficient way of living. Experience the future of home comfort with a system that’s kind to your wallet and the planet.
